Brad Pitt has been making headlines in recent weeks after a report from 2016 where he was accused of assaulting Angelina Jolie, and Maddox Jolie-Pitt resurfaced. It all started after Jolie was named as the Jane Doe who filed a lawsuit against the FBI for refusing to file charges against her ex-husband despite her claims of physical and verbal assault.
Brad Pitt Can’t Be Charged After Angelina Jolie’s Assault Allegations Resurfaced Because There’s No New Information To The Case
But according to Radar Online, Brad Pitt will most likely not be charged with anything despite the lawsuit and other reports making front-page news again. After all, there is nothing new to the case. In fact, a source for the publication claimed that it all seems like a smear campaign against the Bullet Train actor.
“The statute of limitations is way gone, and they have seen all the information at hand. There is nothing new here. At the time, they considered all of Angelina’s allegations and didn’t bring any charges. The FBI investigated the incident thoroughly, there is zero chance of them reopening the case. This is all a concerted effort to smear Brad,” the source said.

Angelina Jolie Wanted To Know Why The FBI Did Not Charge Brad Pitt With Anything
In April, a woman who was not identified as Jolie filed a lawsuit against the FBI and questioned why the bureau did not file any charges against her ex-husband. In her lawsuit, the woman, who is now believed to be Jolie, claimed that Pitt assaulted her and their children while they were on the plane.
The incident resulted in Jolie filing for divorce from the actor. But when the reports first surfaced six years ago, a source denied Jolie’s allegations and said that while it is true that Pitt might have been drunk during the alleged incident, there’s no proof that he laid a hand on his ex-wife and kids.
“He did not hit his child in the face in any way. He did not do that; he is empathic about that. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiralling out of control,” the source said (via The Cut).
But in November 2016, authorities who investigated the matter cleared Pitt’s name because there was not enough evidence to support Jolie’s allegations. In fact, an insider confirmed that Pitt’s name was cleared almost immediately after the investigation took place.
“The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services cleared him of any child abuse allegations almost immediately. The case remained open out of an abundance of caution because the department took the matter seriously, and in the almost two years of monitored visitation, there was not one instance that caused any alarm bells to go off,” the source said.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt Testified Against Brad Pitt And Refused To Use His Dad’s Surname
Years later, Pitt’s eldest son, Maddox, who allegedly got into an altercation with his dad on the plane, testified against the actor amid his and Jolie’s custody battle.
“Maddox has already given testimony as [an] adult in the ongoing custody dispute, and it wasn’t very flattering toward Brad. He doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie. Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support,” a source told Us Weekly last year.
