Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce battle continues with yet another twist to what seems like an unresolvable matter between both parties. Recent reports claimed that Jolie filed an anonymous lawsuit against the FBI after they refused to charge Pitt amid allegations of physical and verbal assault six years ago.
Is Angelina Jolie The Woman That Filed A Lawsuit Against The FBI?
Eriq Gardner of Puck News claimed that Angelina Jolie was really the person that filed a lawsuit against the FBI. And she’s urging them to turn over the documents related to the investigation.
The unearthed documents also revealed that a statement of probable cause was drafted and given to the Criminal Division chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles before it was announced that Pitt’s name was in the clear despite his ex-wife's claims.
Brad Pitt Allegedly Grabbed Angelina Jolie By Her Shoulders And Shook Her While They Were On The Plane
An incident between the exes reportedly occurred years ago while their children were on the plane with them. Pitt was allegedly drinking and he took Jolie to the back of the plane while grabbing her shoulders and cursing at her.
“Later, during this same flight, another physical altercation allegedly took place, and Jolie said she sustained injuries; she gave the agent a photo of her elbow in an attempt to corroborate this. At another point, Jolie says Pitt poured beer on her,” Gardner claimed (via The Wrap).
Angelina Jolie Wants To Protect Her Children And Hopes That They Would Heal
The filing also revealed that the woman is also known as “Jane Doe” wanted to keep the details of the lawsuit private to protect her children.
“Ms. Doe has been seeking the withheld information for [several] years in an effort to ensure that her children receive qualified…care and…counseling to address the harm suffered…Information withheld by DOJ and the FBI contains evidence of the harm. The persistent denial of that information to Ms. Doe…a victim of the assault herself — has hampered, and continues to hamper, her efforts to obtain for her children necessary ongoing care and medical attention, and has further harmed the children in the family law system,” it reads (via Variety).
Pitt previously denied Jolie’s previous allegations of physical and verbal assault. But during an interview with GQ, he admitted that he forced himself to quit drinking and smoking after his divorce from Jolie.
“I don’t have the ability to do just one or two a day. It’s not in my makeup. I’m all in. And I’m going to drive into the ground. I’ve lost my privileges,” he said.
Pitt also shared that he attended AA meetings to help him cope.
“I had a really cool men’s group here that was really private and selective, so it was safe. I’d seen things of other people who had been recorded while they were spilling their guts, and that’s just atrocious to me. I always felt very alone in my life, alone growing up as a kid, alone even out here, and it’s really not till recently that I have had a greater embrace of my friends and family,” he said.
