We've all been aware of how WandaVision ties directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness so the idea of Stephen Strange making an appearance on the show is almost a no-brainer. That's why a lot of fans were convinced that the Sorcerer Supreme will be making his presence felt in the hit Disney+ series, potentially to put a stop at Wanda's "madness" in Westview.

The cameo theories have already been circulating long before the series premiered and the speculations were only escalated further by Paul Bettany's claim that an epic appearance from a mystery character was going to take place. Naturally, MCU fans assumed he was talking about Benedict Cumberbatch and several alleged "leaks" also seemed to suggest that Doctor Strange will be the show's surprise MCU cameo but WandaVision ended and no traces of Strange were found.

As it turns out, the mind-blowing cameo Bettany was talking about was none other than himself as White Vision in a blatant attempt at trolling fans. Personally, I didn't really mind not seeing a "Luke Skywalker-level" cameo in the finale but a lot of viewers were dismayed over the lack of "surprise" the ending had which resulted in Episode 9 garnering mixed reviews from MCU diehards.

Now, Benedict Cumberbatch is breaking his silence following the grand finale of WandaVision and he even apologized to the fans who were disappointed that he didn't show up. In an interview with Jake Hamilton, Cumberbatch said: "I'm sorry to disappoint you. That would have been fun I guess; it would have led into Lizzie's involvement with [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness], but ah hell, that's all to come. We're in the middle of it now; we've been filming since before Christmas and it's very exciting." Check out the interview here:

If you'd ask me, I'm actually glad we didn't have a Strange cameo during the finale because I believe that his first "official" encounter with Maximoff should happen on the big screen. Besides, the entire ensemble of the series pretty much proved that they don't need to rely on a huge name to deliver an epic finale. I was pretty satisfied with how everything turned out and if there's one gripe I had with it, I wish it was longer.

WandaVision's grand finale is now streaming on Disney+.
