Attack on Titan Creator Hajime Isayama Reveals Favorite House of the Dragon Character

It's no secret that Hajime Isayama is a huge fan of Game of Thrones. The Attack on Titan creator has even confirmed that Arya Stark was the inspiration behind one of the manga's most decisive characters. So it's no surprise that the mangaka has watched the spin-off series House of the Dragon and he already has a favorite character.

Hajime Isayama Reacts to House of the Dragon

Hajime Isayama recently spoke to Crunchyroll where he confirmed that he has enjoyed the first season of House of the Dragon. He was also quick to admit that he compared the new series to the original show.

"I watched all of the first season and really enjoyed it. Even compared to the first season of the original Game of Thrones, it was well done," Isayama said. He then revealed which character he liked best.

"I like Aemond Targaryen. I think that character’s face looks really good, as an actor," Isayama said.

It's interesting to know that Isayama thinks highly of Aemond Targaryen considering that other House of the Dragon viewers are not fond of the character. However, it seems fitting coming from the man who created characters like Eren and Zeke Yeager.

Isayama also shared how he watched the House of the Dragon Season 1 finale with his wife and her reaction to Aemond's shocking scene.

"I was watching it with my wife and she’s not really about the gore scenes, so she was looking away. And so she asked ‘Oh, what happened? [I said] ‘Oh, you didn’t watch it? Here, let me rewind it for you!’. She got really mad at me," he said.

We already know that House of the Dragon had a lot of brutal scenes and perhaps the confrontation between Aemond and his nephew Lucerys Velaryon was the most shocking one (for those who haven't read George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood).

House of the Dragon Season 2 is expected to air on HBO in 2024. Attack on Titan Season 4 The Final Part has not yet been given an official release date but is set to premiere this year.
