House of the Dragon Fans Mourn Lucerys After Tragic Episode 10 Clash with Aemond and Vhagar

House of the Dragon Episode 10 proved to be a tragic one despite all of the efforts to prevent the civil war. The Black Queen confirmed that Rhaenyra Targaryen was reluctant to fight but in the end, she was a grieving mother and fans joined her in mourning for the young Lucerys Velaryon.

In House of the Dragon Episode 10, Lucerys Velaryon tells his mother that he doesn't wish to be Lord of Driftmark. However, Rhaenyra Targaryen explains to him that his reluctance is understandable but he will need to accept his destiny. Still, now is not the time for tender moments as Rhaenys Velaryon has arrived with some bad news.

After learning that her father is dead and that Aegon II Targaryen has usurped the Iron Throne, Rhaenyra wanted to find a peaceful option. She reluctantly sends her sons Jacaerys and Lucerys as messengers to House Arryn, Stark, and Baratheon, deciding that the latter is a safe one that Luke could easily handle.

This turns out to be a mistake because Aemond Targaryen is already at Storm's End where he threatens Lucerys yet again. Although Lord Borros Baratheon stops them from fighting each other, Aemond chases after Luke and Arrax and Vhagar kills the boy and his dragon.

Naturally, people were emotional over the death of Lucerys and Arrax and they are mourning the prince and his dragon all over social media.

The death of Lucerys Velaryon would end up being the one major event that will start the civil war. As Rhaenyra learns about her son's fate, House of the Dragon Episode 10 concludes with the Black Queen looking determined to avenge Luke.

House of the Dragon Season 2 has already been confirmed but the show's next chapter has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
