The first official trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been released by Marvel and it has all sorts of new things mixed with some familiar touches in the MCU that it teases tons of Easter eggs and comic book references to expect in the upcoming movie opening Phase Five.

Scott Lang remains as a hero with a humble life on the streets of post-blip New York and apparently, he still doesn't get the recognition he deserves after he returned to the world and gave everyone a new chance in life in Endgame.

Hilariously, he was even mistaken as Spider-Man even after the world already forgot who Peter Parker is! Despite it all, Scott Lang seems happy with his new job at Baskin-Robbins as the "Employee of the Century." Also, he looks dapper as Hope Van Dyne's date at the General Science Award gala.

Meanwhile, it cuts to a scene where Cassie Lang, now played by Katherine Newton, boasts her engineering knowledge as she presents to everyone a satellite connecting to the Quantum Realm, the Quantum Beacon, and while she is a pure genius, Janet Van Dyne knew better than anyone its danger.

See, as told in Ant-Man 2, Janet Van Dyne was stuck in the Quantum Realm for years and she knows its danger more than anyone, especially more than young Cassie Lang. Just as she suspected, it is bad news for them as all of them got sucked into it.

After being sucked by the Quantum Beacon, they got into a realm with a landscape so fragmented, it looks like various realities merged into one, even having some weird-looking characters that looks like an android robot, a hooded creature, and a warrior-like person. Also, Scott and Cassie seem to be on their own.

Being someone who has been in the quantum realm for centuries, it is just proper to have Janet Van Dyne as their guide through it. With Hank and Hope, they wore hoods in what looks like the Microverse. Surely, Janet spent enough years to be familiar with the place but the hoods are not a good sign, though.

In a short moment, Kang the Conqueror is seen behind a machine looking similar to an hourglass, but instead of sand, a weird-looking orb is being placed in the middle of it. This is probably a tool of Kang to attain his ultimate goal, to conquer as much of the multiverse as he can.

See, Kang made sure that the Quantum Realm would be thriving and it is seen through the infrastructures that Kang had in the Microverse. With its circular rings surrounding the main building of the city, could it be that the rings have a connection to that of the Ten Rings in Shang-Chi?

Not only is the infrastructure of the Microverse thriving, the army of Kang is also huge and it makes him a force to be reckoned with to anyone who thought it'd be good to infiltrate the place and more than that, Kang, himself is a powerful being, so one should better watch out.

Many would assume that Bill Murray's character would be Krylar, an infinitesimal character from the comics but there's one thing, he isn't green unlike in the comics. It remains a mystery which character Bill Murray is playing given his clad outfit of royal blue. But he could also be another villain, but that's for later.

Kang's army is huge, right? Well, it takes a big one to face such a big army and in one scene, Ant-Man, himself, fights the army of Kang, with the Wasp, but the underlying threat of Kang looms in the distance as he bargains to Scott his way home if he helps Kang. Would Ant-Man fall into Kang's offer?

Surprisingly, while Cassie Lang arrives in the Quantum Realm's Microverse in a casual outfit, near the end of the trailer, she dons a purple suit similar to Ant-Man and the Wasp which brings everyone to the conclusion that this film may be her debut as Stature.

In the comics, while Cassie Lang's character dated back to 1979, she becomes Stature in 2005 in the Young Avengers #6 as she seemingly inherits her dad's responsibilities after the death of her father, revealing to Kate Bishop that she had been collecting Pym particles over the years.

Cassie's difference to her father and to the Wasp is that she could shrink and grow without a suit which makes her special. Also, it has been rumored that Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop would be in the movie so watch out for that!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Trailer Breakdown: Behold, Kang the Conqueror

The next big bad of the MCU, presenting, Kang the Conqueror! Jonathan Majors will be back as a variant of his first MCU character, He Who Remains in Loki and as described, Kang the Conqueror is a much dangerous one. Imagine how huge his army is and how big of a threat he is to the whole multiverse!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Trailer Breakdown: Where is MODOK?

Even if his appearance in the movie is already confirmed, there is a lingering absence of MODOK in the trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Kang the Conqueror is at the center of the marketing of the movie as the villain.

There is not even a glimpse of MODOK seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's trailer and everyone is so focused on Kang that it is puzzling where MODOK is. Could MODOK be working for Kang? Possible, given that Kang seems to be the lord of the Quantum Realm.

In the comics MODOK stands for "Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing," known for his freakishly huge head and hover chair given his small body. He's an intelligent villain with psionic powers and would likely be a huge threat in the film as well.
