Cassie Lang will be back in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and it looks like Scott's little girl will be playing a larger role in the third film. Kathryn Newton has spoken up about Cassie's return, revealing that her father's absence had an effect on the girl and how Cassie is making mistakes that she could learn from.
Kathryn Newton is the third actress to play Cassie Lang, taking over for Abby Ryder Fortson and Emma Fuhrmann. As the new Cassie, Newton spoke about what happened to the character during the Blight when Scott Lang disappeared for five years.
"You find my character Cassie Lang all grown up. She's been without her dad because of the Blight for like five years, and she thinks she knows who she is," Newton told Deadline Hollywood. She then pointed out that Cassie is just doing her best.
"She's got a love in her heart and she's going after what she thinks is good, but she's making a lot of mistakes, as you do. But she's becoming who she is in this movie," Newton stated.
But who exactly is Cassie? If we're going to expect her to be just like the character in the comic books, Cassie is set to become Stature and a member of the Young Avengers. With that in mind, Cassie's future is going to be hopeful and we can't wait to see her in action in Ant-Man 3.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed who had worked on the two previous movies. It will bring back Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. The film will also introduce Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.
The third Ant-Man movie is scheduled for release on February 17, 2023.
