Ant-Man 3 Post-Credits Scene Pays Surprising Visual Nod To Fantastic Four's Reed Richards

Seeing as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania pretty much teased multiple MCU movies and TV series bound to enter within Marvel Phase 5, one of those teased is with the Fantastic Four reboot entering the MCU, by paying a surprising visual nod to Reed Richards.

While John Krasinski has admitted that his role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one and done already, the mid-credits scene from the Ant-Man threequel showed the Council of Kangs, in which one of the Kang variants joining the screen had an identical resemblance to Reeds’ holographic entrance in the Illuminati chamber in Doctor Strange 2.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the opener for Marvel Phase 5, which makes even more sense as to why the film set up connections to Loki Season 2, Secret Invasion, the Fantastic Four reboot, but most importantly, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Especially with the introduction of MCU’s new big bad: Kang the Conqueror and his many featured variants in the credits sequence.

The Ant-Man 3 director Peyton Reed developed Fantastic Four prior to making its way into the MCU, which makes sense as to why he had also made reference to Fantastic Four soon becoming a part of the Marvel Phase: “I think I sort of channeled my passion for Fantastic Four into the Ant-Man movies, because they’re both, you know, they’re both stories about families of superheroes.”

Interestingly, the visual nod to Richards’ is not only a fun reference for the film, but it actually also indicates the connection of Kang to the character. Kang is a descendant of Richards’, seeing as Kang’s actual name is Nathaniel Richards. Though Kang’s storyline has yet to be unveiled,

Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot arrives in theaters on February 14, 2025, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is now showing in cinemas.
