While she has yet to return to a manga serialization, Act-Age illustrator Shiro Usazaki continues to release new projects, with the latest being an illustration of Ai Hoshino for the latest Oshi no Ko chapter.
This new illustration of Ai serves as the cover page for Oshi no Ko Chapter 116, and it was made by Mengo Yokoyari in collaboration with Usazaki.
While this cover page was released on Shonen Jump+, it sadly isn’t in the Manga Plus release of the latest chapter.
Act-Age Co-Creator Shiro Usazaki’s Latest Works
It’s fitting that Shiro Usazaki has once again helped with Oshi no Ko given that her previous manga Act-Age shares some key similarities. After all, both shows feature stories about the entertainment industry.
Act-Age was canceled in 2020 following the arrest of writer Tatsuya Matsuki for sexual harassment.
Following the event, Usazaki expressed her sympathy to the victims and said that she believed the cancelation was appropriate.
Despite having many fans from Act-Age, Usazaki has yet to return to illustrating a manga serial.
However, she has been active over the past years with various illustration works. For instance, Usazaki has worked as an illustrator for various projects.
Her latest work is a one-shot manga that was released in Weekly Shonen Jump back in March.
This one-shot features an interesting interactive element that lets multiple readers make choices that can affect the story.

Shiro Usazaki Helps Create New Ai Hoshino Art
For the latest chapter, Oshi no Ko released a new cover page that features a beautiful illustration of Ai Hoshino with a crown and royal regalia.
The illustration also highlights the new anime, as well as the manga’s 5 million copies shipped milestone.
Following its release, series illustrator Mengo Yokoyari revealed that the artwork was made in collaboration with Usazaki.
On her official Twitter, Usazaki clarified that she helped color the illustration.
This isn’t the first time that Usazaki has helped create an illustration for the series. Back in 2021, she also helped with a colored artwork of Miyako Saitou.
Thanks to her contributions, Oshi no Ko writer Aka Akasaka said on his Twitter account that it’s time for Shiro Usazaki to be credited in the manga’s author column.
The next Oshi no Ko chapter will be released on May 10, 2023.
