What Makes Oshi no Ko Different From Other Anime?

Just by looking at the manga cover, trailers, and other posters of Oshi no Ko, many viewers might expect the anime to be a shoujo series.

Some might even think that it is just a typical idol series with cute dance moves and amazing vocals from the characters.

But Oshi no Ko disproved all those assumptions with its one-hour-long first episode that set the tone for the overall show.

The drama and supernatural (some even consider it dark anime) series captures viewers' attention with its intriguing plot.

Sure, it follows the life of Ai Hoshino, a talented and popular idol, but things start to get interesting when she gives birth to two reincarnated individuals.

It so happens that one used to be her ultimate fan while the other was the same doctor who was supposed to help her give birth.

Oshi no Ko’s plot thickens when Ai is murdered by her obsessed fan, who finds out about her secret pregnancy and children.

Aqua Hoshino (the reincarnated doctor who was also an Ai fan) vowed to avenge Ai, adding mystery to the series’ genre.

The animation shifts from cute and colorful to dark and creepy as needed, which is not very common in most anime.

The characters also have different personalities and developments that make viewers anticipate what’s going to happen next.

So, Is Oshi no Ko Worth the Hype?

With its plot, characters, and animation, Oshi no Ko is definitely worth the hype.

Manga fans who loved Oshi no Ko have been waiting for it to be adapted into an anime, and the episodes so far do not disappoint.

The series gives a fresh approach to the entertainment industry (particularly regarding idols) that we rarely see.

Oshi no Ko shows what happens behind the scenes along with the dangers related to fame and stardom.

There are so many things to look forward to, such as the identity of Aqua and Ruby’s biological father and the background of Ai's stalker.

As these questions continue to linger in the viewers' minds, Oshi no Ko will most likely continue to dominate the ratings.
