Star Wars: The Acolyte is set in the unexplored timeline of the High Republic Era, a century before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. However, its two-episode premiere featured several Easter eggs and references to the larger franchise.

The show has taken fans to a familiar galaxy far, far away, but with a different setting and introduced several new characters.

This article will contain spoilers for the first episode.

Its story centres on the twins, Mae and Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg.

Osha becomes a suspect in the murder of a Jedi Master until Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) starts an investigation and learns it’s her sister, Mae, who many believe to be dead, is the murderer.

Given the many settings throughout the episode, here are five things you may have missed in The Acolyte Episode 1, Lost / Found.

A Familiar Cantina

The Acolyte Episode 1 starts with the fight between Mae and Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss).

It begins with Mae finding Indara in a cantina, a known place in the Star Wars universe where spacers, smugglers, and other denizens come to drink and unwind.

This cantina is similar to the Mos Eisley Cantina, first seen in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

But if there’s one thing that shows the big difference between the two, it’s the missing all-Bith musical band.

However, it all makes sense as the focus has to be Mae and Indara’s face-off.

The Gonk Droid

GNK power droids, aka the Gonk droids, are known for being an industrial automation knockoff of the EG-6 power droid.

These droids have been featured across the Star Wars franchise. However, though The Acolyte is set several years before the main timeline begins, a Gonk droid is seen walking past Osha while she’s talking with Filik on the ship.

It’s not surprising, as Gonk droids are walking power generators, making them useful throughout the galaxy.

Neimoidians

Neimodians have appeared in The Acolyte as the owners of the ship where Osha works.

They were first seen in Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace, where Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray was the primary villain.

In the movie's opening, they establish a blockade around Naboo and are in cahoots with Darth Sidious.

A hundred years before the events of The Phantom Menace, Neimodians still look as greedy as they’re known to be.

A Similar Space Suit

The Republic has declared organic outer-ship repairs illegal. However, Osha is confident that she can do the job.

She’s well suited for this task, and she’s seen wearing a space suit to repair the ship’s shield generator.

If fans look closely, they will see that her suit resembles Ahsoka Tano’s (Rosario Dawson) space suit in the live-action series Star Wars: Ahsoka.

Osha’s Force Vision

Just when Osha thought that her twin sister was dead, she received a vision from the Force, which was connected to both her past and future.

Here, she learns that Mae is alive and is behind the killing of Indara.

This was the same thing that happened to Rey (Daisy Ridley) in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens when she touched the Skywalker saber in Maz Kanata’s castle.

Which of these scenes gives you goosebumps? These are just some of the Easter eggs seen in The Acolyte Episode 1, and there will surely be more as the series continues.

The Acolyte Episodes 1 and 2 are now on Disney+, while new episodes come out every Tuesday.
