The release of The Acolyte trailer has nabbed an impressive record for the Star Wars franchise.
A lot of fans have been looking forward to the upcoming series since it is the first live-action Star Wars project that is set in the High Republic era and bolsters a stacked cast and an Emmy-nominated showrunner.
Based on the viewership report, it looks like millions of people worldwide were also curious and anticipating the release of the upcoming series this summer.

The Acolyte Trailer Garners 51.3 Million Views in First 24 Hours
Lucasfilm revealed that The Acolyte trailer garnered 51.3 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.
As a result, it is now the most-watched trailer debut of any Star Wars TV series, surpassing the likes of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more.
Despite the series being set in an unfamiliar territory and having no connections to any of the Skywalker Saga timeline, it is impressive that the trailer was able to garner a lot of viewership in its debut.
This shows that there is a lot of curiosity for the series and fans are also eager to immediately check out the preview since it is the first High Republic-set live-action project.
While there is no guarantee yet that the series itself will have a large viewership when it premieres this June, it is a promising start since it shows that there is a lot of interest from the worldwide audience.
The series' premise reads: "An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past."
Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland serves as the showrunner of the series. The stacked cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Amandla Stenberg, Carrie-Anne Moss, Rebecca Henderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dean-Charles Chapman, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, and more.
