Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige On The Future Of The Quantum Realm In The MCU

Marvel has slowly been exploring the concept of the Quantum Realm in its Ant-Man movies, and with Avengers 4 in the horizon many expect the studio to further travel the expanse of the alternate dimension where space and time are both irrelevant.

Now, thanks to a recently released collector's edition hardcover book (via ComicBook.com), Marvel fans get to learn more about what Marvel has planned for the Quantum Realm.

Marvel and Titan have just recently come together to offer a collector's edition hardcover book celebrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 10th anniversary, and in the book, fans get to read interviews with some of the biggest Marvel Studio's names, including President Kevin Feige.

In one of the interviews with Marvel's head honcho, Feige talks about a topic that many expect to be quite relevant to the sequel to Avenger: Infinity War – the Quantum Realm.

"At the end of Ant-Man, we followed Scott Lang into the Quantum Realm for the first time. We were beginning to peel back the onion that would later be completely peeled back in Doctor Strange as we go into the multiverse. So that was our little test into that," Feige explained.

Marvel was very cautious at first, introducing the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man in 2015 and then digging deeper into the realm in Doctor Strange in 2016. Now, it seems like the studio is ready to dive deeper into the dimension.

"Now the Quantum Realm is a whole other territory that we can play with to tell our stories," the Marvel Studio executive continues. "This Quantum Realm is much larger than we ever imagined, and there are all sorts of adventures to be had at that level, which perhaps we will explore in another film."

The only question left now is whether Marvel will decide to further explore the Quantum Realm next year in Avengers 4, or whether the studio's going to start experimenting once it builds the Marvel Cosmic Universe. There have been numerous theories speculating that the Avengers might try to make use of the Quantum Realm to undo Thanos' dusty massacre in Avengers 4, but we'll still have to wait and see whether that might happen. Let's just keep crossing our fingers.

Avengers 4 hits the big screen May 3, 2019.
