Avengers 4’s Benedict Cumberbatch Plays Santa, Reveals Which MCU Stars Have Been Naughty

Christmas day is just a little over a month away, and it looks like Avengers: Infinity War star Benedict Cumberbatch is excited to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe's little Santa.

While fans are busy anticipating Cumberbatch's return as Doctor Strange in Avengers 4, the Sherlock star has been pretty busy promoting his Christmas movie, Dr. Seuss' The Grinch. Cumberbatch might not be the movie's Santa Claus, but he is playing the Grinch, a character out to cancel Christmas.

Sitting down for an interview with the Radio Times, Cumberbatch decided to get his Grinch mode on, going through a list of his MCU co-stars and place them on the naughty or nice list for the holiday season.

"[Robert Downey Jr.] is naughty, very, very naughty," the actor joked, laughing. "He's actually incredibly generous and would go up to the nice list."

Iron Man might be sassy, but he does have a golden heart kept alive by an arc reactor. Cumberbatch also places his Doctor Strange co-star Rachel McAdams on the nice list – and surprisingly Thor: Ragnarok's Asgardian God of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston.

Meanwhile, it seems like Universal Picture's new Grinch has a lot of names on the naughty list and that includes Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan as well as Black Panther's Martin Freeman (who is also Cumberbatch's co-star in BBC's Sherlock series).

"[Chris Pratt] is naughty! Naughty, naughty, naughty," Cumberbatch told. "[Karen Gillan] is so badass, I'd have to put her on the naughty list."

"[Martin Freeman] is definitely on the naughty list. Watson's very naughty. He couldn't abide being on a nice list, he'd have to go on the naughty list," the Doctor Strange star continued.

Then there's Tom Holland, a Marvel star obviously on the naughty list.

"Definitely on the naughty list, he can't keep his trap shut," Cumberbatch told the publication.

Holland might be the best actor to play Spider-Man, but he sure doesn't know how to keep a secret. The MCU star has doled out spoilers to the Marvel fanbase quite a number of times already, and with Avengers 4 on the way, we're just waiting for the actor to make another little slip-up.
