There is little doubt that WandaVision is getting exciting for comic book readers, now that the third episode has introduced two characters that everyone has been waiting for. But could this also mean that Wanda and Vision's twin boys will eventually grow up to become future Young Avengers?
WARNING: The following contains MAJOR SPOILERS from WandaVision Season 1 Episode 3. Proceed with caution.
In Now With Color, Wanda Maximoff's pregnancy moved forward too quickly. Although she was only starting to show in the second episode, she suddenly escalates to her sixth trimester and begins to experience intense contractions. This causes an energy surge that knocks out the power across town.
It doesn't take long before Wanda is in labor and her neighbor Geraldine ends up having to help deliver the baby. Amazingly, it turns out that Wanda and Vision were having twins so they get to use both names that they wanted: Billy and Tommy.
Since this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the names were not chosen randomly. These were the names given to the children in The Vision and the Scarlet Witch Vol. 2 #12. Although it was later revealed that Billy and Tommy are magical constructs made real by Wanda's powers, the boys were eventually reincarnated.
After the events in The House of M, the twins were reincarnated as Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan, and Tommy Shepherd aka Speed. The two heroes possess the powers of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, respectively, and become members of Young Avengers.
For now, it's unclear if these adorable babies will grow up to become Wiccan and Speed. However, fans are hoping that the events in WandaVision will lead to the Young Avengers being introduced to the MCU.
Do you think Billy and Tommy will grow up to become Young Avengers? Sound off in the comments below.
