Project No. 9 scored a great romantic comedy series with Higehiro having 13 episodes this season slated in a single-cour bringing to the anime scene the pages of the light novel series of the same name by Shimesaba with the illustrations of booota published in Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint, and the shōnen manga series by the same author with the illustrations of Imaru Adachi published in Kadokawa Shoten's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Ace. Yoshida and Sayu meets in the dead of night under the streetlights after the 26-year-old employee of an IT company, Yoshida, heads home after drinking his feelings out, and on his way, he sees Sayu, a girl who ran away from home, sitting on the side of the road alone. Although Yoshida had doubts when Sayu asked him if she could stay with him, he gave in and took her in his home for nothing in return.

What happened in Higehiro Episode 4?
In Higehiro Episode 4, Part-Time Job, Yoshida suggested to Sayu, which she agreed to as well, that she get a part-time job. She found one in a convenience store near their house and her senior is Asami Yuki. On Sayu's way home, Asami accompanied her, curious about her relationship with Yoshida.
When asked, both of them lied they knew each other for quite a long time and Yoshida "used to take care" of Sayu when she was little. Asami, not easily fooled by the lie, played along. When Yoshida had to walk Asami home, she feels Yoshida still keeps to himself the real story of Sayu.
Airi Goto, the love of Yoshida for five years and the one who broke his heart invited him for dinner as she thought he was in a relationship with Mishima. Airi then confessed she loves Yoshida and never had a boyfriend ever since. Because of this, he had to reveal that he is living with Sayu and he informed Sayu they will have a guest, Airi. Sayu felt she was just about to get kicked out, only to be proven wrong as Airi is just coming to their home.
