He has been in love with her for five years and does everything for her only to realize he's in unrequited love. That day he gets rejected; he went to drink after work with his colleague.

Yoshida went home and while on his way, he saw a drunk girl on the side of the street, beneath a lamplight. She was just sitting there, under the influence of hebereke, in the middle of the night. She is Sayu and she ran away from home. With nowhere to go, she convinced Yoshida if she could stay with him and despite being hesitant at first, Yoshida agreed.
