Shaman King (2021) has just released its seventh episode, in which the necromancer Faust plays an important role. As has been the case for much of the anime since it started airing earlier in the year, fans' responses to the pacing were mixed, but many are still eager to follow Yoh in his quest to be a Shaman King.

Shaman King (2021) Overview and Episode 7 Recap
Shaman King is based on a 1998-2004 manga marketed as shonen. The manga received an anime adaptation while still ongoing. This means that the ending the creators intended for us never made it to our screens. The remake is here to make amends.
In Shaman King, we follow Yoh, who wants to become the most powerful shaman; a being with the ability to summon spirits and manipulate the world according to their will. To achieve his dream, Yoh must come victorious out of a competition that only takes place once every 500 years.
The highlight of Shaman King (2021) Episode 7 was the appearance of Faust, likely one of Yoh's more challenging opponents thus far. Compared to the original, the violence of their conflict was very much toned down, which many fans noted as a negative. While it isn't bad to make a show more family-friendly, some would have preferred the violence to have at least been implied if not outright shown on screen.
Another complaint was, once again, the episode's pacing. Some fans were annoyed by the time Amidamaru spent consoling Yoh, thinking that other aspects required more screen time. We did find out more about Yoh's motivations though, which is a good thing. It's important not to reach a definitive conclusion about the show's quality yet, as a remake always has a heavy legacy behind it.
The pacing issue was also a complaint about Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood but this became less of an issue when the show moved to scenes that had never been seen on screen before, so it's likely that something similar will happen with Shaman King (2021) as well.

For the time being, the show is only available on Netflix Japan. You wouldn't expect it to be on Netflix in the US and Europe right now, as the popular streaming service usually licenses full seasons that can be binged at once, rather than ongoing works.
Since Shaman King will count 52 episodes, it might not be available for some time, but we'll update this space if a new place to watch the show comes up. This is frustrating for longtime fans, but after waiting for 20 years, we can at least know we won't have to wait much longer.
