Words cannot describe how pumped I am for Shaman King (2021)! One of my favorite memories from my early otaku days involved waking up early on Saturday mornings to catch a new episode of the original Shaman King anime adaptation on the Fox network. Now, a whole new generation of fans who weren't able to catch it the first time around is going to get to watch it and that excites me!
Originally a manga series created by Hiroyuki Takei, which ran from June 1998 to August 2004 in Weekly Shonen Jump, the series was collected in 32 volumes and originally published in English by Viz Media. In 2017, Kodansha rescued the license and is re-releasing the entire series, both digitally and physically.
Studio Bridge will produce the animation this time around, with Joji Furuta serving as the director. They'll be working off scripts written by Shoji Yonemura.
In this shonen battle series, the main character is a shaman named Yoh Asakura. In this world, shamans are warriors who are capable of being possessed by spirits and take on their power. Yoh's mission in life is to become the Shaman King and be granted the ability to reshape the world however he chooses. In order to do this, Yoh must win the Shaman Fight, which is a battle between shamans from all over the world to determine who is the strongest.

The series will air right at the start of the spring anime season on Thursday, April 1st at 5:55 pm Japan Standard Time. This translates into it airing at 1:55 am Pacific/4:55 am Eastern.
Shaman King (2021) Where to Watch Episode 1?
Keep in mind that this series is streaming on Netflix, so don't be shocked if the series doesn't appear on the service in your country or region right away. As with all Netflix series, your delivery date may vary. As of this writing, neither Crunchyroll nor Funimation have announced this series as part of their lineup, which means having to wait for Netflix to make it available in your region.

The first few seconds are dedicated to introducing the shaman concept before we get a solid block of time meeting the characters. If you were on the fence about watching this series before, this is the kind of trailer that could shift your decision one way or the other.
Shaman King (2021) is one of spring's hottest titles and I, for one, will look forward to watching it as soon as it premieres on Netflix!
