It's safe to say that the unprecedented success of The Mandalorian pretty much gave Lucasfilm an idea that a Star Wars expansion through Disney+ is the way to go. Now, the hit science-fiction series has already spawned several shows all set within the "Mandoverse" timeline, including Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett. Apart from the aforementioned projects, the production company is also currently working on a solo Obi-Wan Kenobi series which began production last month.

Speaking of Ben Kenobi, his arch-nemesis from The Phantom Menace Darth Maul is also being rumored to get his own spinoff show on the popular Disney streaming service. The good folks over at Geekosity report that Lucasfilm is actually toying with the idea of giving Maul his own series that would pick up where his chilling cameo appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story left off. According to their scoop, nothing has been officially greenlit yet but there's an actual chance that actor Ray Parker could once again be tapped to play the crimson-faced Sith Lord which I think would be splendid.

Of course, just like any rumor, take this one with a huge grain of salt but the idea of Maul returning to the Star Wars franchise doesn't seem too farfetched at this point. The legendary science-fiction franchise's Disney+ expansion pretty much solidified that anything is possible and it may only be a matter of time before we see the menacing villain once again wreaking havoc in a galaxy far, far away. What are the odds that Maul shows up in Obi-Wan?

Speaking of, Obi-Wan is scheduled for release in 2022.
