Just when you thought everything was already running smoothly for the fifth Indiana Jones movie, the upcoming Lucasfilm production experienced a potential setback following a shoulder injury Harrison Ford sustained while rehearsing one of his fight sequences. As it stands, the true extent and severity of Ford's condition have not been specified but several reports claim that the Hollywood icon's injury may require surgery and the sequel is now facing up to six weeks of production delay.

Of course, working on Indiana Jones 5 without Indiana Jones himself would be very tricky and such a long delay alone would cost Lucasfilm quite a lot of money but director James Mangold is coming to the rescue to finally clear the air amid all of the speculations surrounding the fate of Indy's next big adventure.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Mangold quickly debunked rumors about the film experiencing a production delay. The acclaimed filmmaker who is taking over from Steven Spielberg said on the social media platform that they're actually shooting scenes for the film, contrary to what was initially reported by Hollywood insiders like Grace Randolph.

It's safe to assume that Mangold and his crew are currently filming the scenes that wouldn't require Ford's involvement which I think is actually brilliant and not to mention efficient. Hopefully, the Star Wars legend will be able to recuperate just in time to get back to work. Also, the production's safety standards should obviously be doubled to avoid another incident that could potentially lead to more problems down the line.

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for release on July 29, 2022.
