The fifth installment in the legendary Indiana Jones franchise is coming our way but just when production was already starting to take some shape, an unfortunate incident happened during filming involving lead star Harrison Ford who reportedly suffered an injury.

Deadline reports that the 78-year-old Hollywood icon injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight sequence but the severity of his condition is still unknown as of writing.

The entertainment website reached out to Disney for a comment and a spokesperson for the House of Mouse confirmed that Ford in fact injured his shoulder during rehearsals which presumably took place in Pinewood Studios. Nothing has been confirmed yet but it's safe to assume that the highly-anticipated project won't resume production not until they learn about the extent of Harrison's injury.

"In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks," a Disney representative said.

Ford is no stranger to getting injured on set. In fact, in 2014, Ford was involved in a freak accident while filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens which led to him sustaining a nasty leg injury. Hopefully, Ford's latest injury is nothing serious and won't end up being a major setback for Indiana Jones 5. We'll make sure to keep you posted when new information about his injury circulates.

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for release on July 29, 2022.
