The interesting thing about Megalo Box is that it started as a show. It was originally made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular manga named Ashita No Joe, a Japanese boxing manga series. Both have the same concept which attracted manga and anime fans alike. It was produced by 3xCube and TMS Entertainment.
With the show’s success, Chikara Sakuma decided to launch a manga adaptation that has 2 volumes. The manga is entitled Megalo Box – Shukumei no Soken and was serialized in Shonen Magazine Edge.
The manga adaptation ended in 2018 and even with season 2 of the popular anime, there is no news regarding another manga adaptation. Manga fans might have to wait for that or they can start watching the second season of Megalo Box.
Speaking of Megalo Box 2: Nomad, fans can stream on Funimation. The setting is a few years after Junk Dog’s victory. The upcoming season will also explain what happened to the show’s characters five years after Joe won Megalonia. Those who needed a recap on the series can watch Megalo Box Season 1 on Crunchyroll.
