Yoo Jae Suk failed to hide his reaction when president-elect Yoon Suk Yeol appeared on his tvN’s show, You Quiz on the Block.
Aside from Running Man, Yoo Jae Suk has received positive reviews and praises for leading the variety show, You Quiz on the Block with Jo Se Ho. They first started dominating TV screens in August 2018, and it continuously introduces the hosts to ordinary people in each episode.
However, its April 20 episode, which featured president-elect Yoon Suk Yeol, caused the Nation’s MC to appear on the trending list due to his reaction upon seeing the politician.

Yoo Jae Suk Surprised After Seeing Yoon Suk Yeol on Show
Numerous reports confirmed that Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho did not know that the president-elect would appear on the show until the day they recorded it. Most You Quiz on the Block staff and crew reportedly had no idea about the plan, as well, causing controversy to rise.
Even Yoo Jae Suk delivered a statement on-air to hide his shock, but viewers quickly noticed his uneasiness throughout the broadcast.
“In truth, this is an overwhelming situation. I am flustered. The mood in here is very uneasy. Everyone is solemn,” he said.

Both Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho rarely smiled during the recording. They also did not respond actively like how they usually do. It caused Yoon Seok Yeol to say that maybe he should not have come to the show.
Yoo Jae Suk’s facial expression then trended in the country, with fans saying that they had never seen Yoo Jae Suk with tight reaction and looking uncomfortable while hosting a show.
You Quiz on the Block Rejected Outgoing President Moon Jae In’s Appearance
The issue got more controversial as a member of President Moon Jae In’s administration called out CJ ENM and accused the network of lying.
The Secretary of Protocol for the Moon Jae In administration revealed that the You Quiz on the Block rejected President Moon Jae In’s request to appear on the program last year.
Tak Hyun Min shared his dismay online, writing, “Even now, I want to believe that president-elect Yoon Seok Yeol's appearance was solely a decision made by the production team. It's fine if at that time, they made the judgment that the appearance of the president and the Blue House officials did not match the nature of their program. However, we hope there was no external pressure this time as well, and that only the production team's judgment was considered, and will be considered from now on.”
Yoo Jae Suk still has not addressed the issue directly.
