With Yellowjackets Season 2 approaching, the cast and creative team have spoken out about how insane the second season will be – and how it has affected the people involved.

As fans are aware, there is a looming threat of cannibalism in Yellowjackets, but we haven't seen the evolution into full-on humans eating just yet. With that stated, co-showrunner Jonathan Lisco assured EW that there's more to come.

Yellowjackets Season 2 Cast Describes 'Intense' Filming

Even the actors in Yellowjackets Season 2 were disturbed by what happened during the production.

"If we do our jobs right, the eating of a person will not be the most transgressive thing that these young women do in the wilderness," Lisco told EW. "That's just the tip of the iceberg."

Lauren Ambrose, who joined the cast as an adult Van (played by Eve Hewson in the 1996 timeline), revealed that she was still affected by the events shortly after filming the Yellowjackets Season 2 finale.

"It was just so intense," she explained. "How are we ever going to recover from that?"

Kessell, Ambrose's fellow newcomer, agreed, telling EW, "I feel like I've been in a car accident. I'm still, like, shaking from it. It's insane."

Having said that, fans can surely brace themselves for a completely wild Yellowjackets Season 2, which makes sense. The first season made it quite clear that this show will not shy away from anything upsetting, and the creative team behind it is willing to take major risks to get its story through.

Upping the Ante of the First Season

Yellowjackets Season 1 has it all. You have creepy cults. You have an "antler queen." There's a shrine with a headless dog and a few other frightening statues. There's a lady who sneaks around in the middle of the night, climbing trees, eating dirt, and scaring the crap out of her son.

A mother skins and kills a rabbit in her backyard and serves it to her family for supper, a group of teens inadvertently consumes psychedelic mushrooms during a party in the deep woods, and a husband is surprised to learn that his wife will not be attending book club as she stated.

When Yellowjackets Season 2 premieres on March 26, fans know they're in for a crazy ride — and they expect nothing less from this gloriously wild, bizarre, darkly comic series.
