X-Men: Apocalypse will feature the most formidable villain that the X-Men has ever faced in the X-Men cinematic universe. You can expect that the highly anticipated movie will display epic fight scenes and according to Professor Charles Xavier James McAvoy, that includes a battle between Professor X and single most powerful, Apocalypse himself.
In Empire's latest coverage on X-Men: Apocalypse, McAvoy described in detail a "psychic battle" between Professor X and Apocalypse, where Oscar Isaac's character grows to "gargantuan proportions" and the Professor jumps from his wheelchair to give menacing kicks on the Egyptian mutant.
The 36-year-old Scottish actor said:
I got to beat the shit out of Apocalypse the other day. Charles gets pretty violent on his ass. And Apocalypse tries to do something to me that's pretty fucking brutal. I think that might leap out at people.
The scene has been teased before in the last two X-Men: Apocalypse trailers, where we see Xavier in the X-Mansion. He tries to punch Apocalypse, but the powerful mutant breaks the punch easily, then his eyes turn white and his hand, which grows to ginormous proportions, slams Xavier to the ground.
Despite Apocalypse being all great and powerful, it's good to know that Professor X is actually putting up a fight and we'll eventually see him in action in this movie. It's something we rarely see him do since his strength is his telepathic abilities. The battle scene between him and Apocalypse somehow reminds me the fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
What this psychic battle entails for the real world we have yet to see, but it could be the key to the X-Men defeating Apocalypse in the end.
