Fox Announces Deadpool 2 Team, Wolverine Film, New X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer, But No Gambit

21st Century Fox has officially announced that the creative team behind Deadpool will be involved in the sequel.

According to EW, during its CinemaCon presentation this week, the studio revealed some not so surprising news about Deadpool 2.

Ryan Reynolds will join director Tim Miller and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick once again for Deadpool 2.

This doesn't really come off as a reveal, but rather more of a confirmation considering the film broke a ton of records at the box office.

Meanwhile, the studio revealed only a title card for what it calls an Untitled Wolverine film.

Included in Fox's CinemaCon presentation is a new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. (Spoiler Alertfor the upcoming trailer for the film!)

In the new trailer, it will be revealed that Evan Peters' Quicksilver is the son of Michael Fassbender's Magneto. Also shown (which is sort of obvious in past promos) is how Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique plays a leadership role in Apocalypse, providing more credence to her line in previous trailers, "You're not students anymore....you're X-Men."

This shows that Mystique is someone akin to Jean Grey – a legend in the group.

While all that has been revealed by Fox, what's intriguing is that they didn't mention Channing Tatum's Gambit film at all. The movie was supposed to be released in October, but production has been delayed.

Personally, I'm curious to see Tatum play the card-throwing mutant, who could potentially be included in future X-Men films if the movie turns out a success.

We'll just have to wait and see whether Fox chooses to release Deadpool 2 or Gambit first.
