The X-Men are about to get a huge shift in their status quo when Jonathan Hickman gets his hands on them in House of X and Powers of X (pronounced Powers of 10). Marvel has said that this will be one of the biggest X-Men storylines around and it will lead to a line of new books, some of which will be written by Hickman.
It wouldn't be a new X-Men series without some new costumes and Cyclops is the lucky hero to get a new one. Previous covers have given us a decent look at it before but this variant cover from Marco Checcheto shows us the costume in full detail. This is our best look at the suit thus far and fans might be pleased with it.
Fans who like seeing Scott with the bald cap are probably pleased with this, though those that were appreciating seeing his ‘90s costume in action again are a bit bummed. Then again, with all of the senseless death that has happened in Matthew Rosenberg's current run of the book, fans may just want to move on from that.
Both House of X and Powers of X will be coming out later this month, giving us a new status quo for Marvel's merry band of mutants. Let's hope these comics are as historic as the company is saying.
