The dust has barely settled since the season finale of X-Men ‘97 dropped, yet the accolades have already started to pour in.
The highly-acclaimed animated series is nominated in the Breakthrough Drama Series category at the 2024 Gotham TV Awards, with credit to Beau DeMayo as creator and Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, and DeMayo as executive producers.
It is up against some serious competition in the category, versus Black Cake, Fallout, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and The Curse; however, it is worth noting that X-Men ‘97 is the only animated show to get a nomination in this year’s awards.
Nominees for the annual Gotham Awards are selected by a panel of film and television critics, journalists, and festival programmers, with the award ceremony to be held on June 4, 2024.

Experts Predict an Emmy for X-Men ‘97
In related news, Marvel has reportedly submitted the fifth episode of X-Men ‘97 for consideration at the Primetime Emmy Awards.
In Remember It, events go massively haywire as our heroes prepare for a leap forward in the history of mutantkind. Many viewers acknowledged the episode's action, emotion, and devastation as peak Marvel production.
Variety and THR predict that X-Men ‘97 will not only be nominated but also dominate the Primetime Emmy’s Animated Program category, against Archer, Blue Eye Samurai, Bob’s Burgers, and The Simpsons.
Should the predictions ring true, this would be one of the few times a Marvel animated series wins the Emmys. The underrated X-Men: Evolution won two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Sound Mixing - Special Class (2001) and Outstanding Sound Editing - Live Action and Animation (2003), while Chadwick Boseman was posthumously awarded the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (2022) for his performance in What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?
The official nominations will be revealed on July 17, 2024, with the awarding ceremonies scheduled for September 15, 2024.
The first season of X-Men '97 is available to stream on Disney+.
