Will There Be a Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen? Here's What We Expect to Happen After Season 1 Ends

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 would be a delight to the fans and viewers of the supernatural horror shōnen anime series of MAPPA following the occult-loving student, Yuji Itadori, who encountered a powerful curse, Sukuna, being the host of the curse giving him extraordinary powers of the curses whilst being possessed at the same time.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the Japanese supernatural shōnen manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in March 2018. It also has a light novel series. As of February 2021, the manga series has already reached over 300 million copies in circulation which includes the digital copies making Jujutsu Kaisen the fifth best-selling manga series of 2020. In January 2021, Jujutsu Kaisen ranked second in Oricon's weekly manga ranking being bested by Attack on Titan which ranked first.

It's no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen's anime is successful as well. The chart-topping anime has since become a fan-favorite since the inception of the show. It even bagged the anime of the year award in Crunchyroll this year. That being said, Jujutsu Kaisen has been high on the pedestal when it comes to ratings and high gross profits making fans demand more in a second season.

As of the time of writing, there is no official confirmation yet as to the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen from the producers of the anime series. To have a second season, an anime series must have consistent ratings and have high gross profit for the first season to secure a second one.

It's not a problem for Jujutsu Kaisen, of course. It's just hailed as the anime of the year. It would not reach such a high acclamation if not for its high ratings and great reviews. It's safe to say, Jujutsu Kaisen is very well capable of securing a second season, more so, a third.

It is highly likely that the second season will have the same treatment as that of the first with the 24-episode count, maybe even more, or even become a split-cour as the anime is currently having a continuous airing which means that it will be available every week.

As Jujutsu Kaisen nears the end of the season, it's been baffling many fans and viewers as to why the anime series hasn't been given a go signal or at least, a confirmation, whether there would be a second season and with the popularity, it has gained over the course of the series, it should have one

There is enough material, the manga series is still ongoing which means there are enough storylines which the anime series can delve upon and bring to life through the show. It's expected by many fans and viewers that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 should adapt the next arcs in the manga series which has various major arcs such as the Shibuya Incident Arc, or the Death Painting Arc.

Ideally speaking, those two arcs are enough to cover one whole season and the other arcs can even push the anime series for a third season. Jujutsu Kaisen has a lot to offer and hopes are up for the succeeding seasons of the anime series.

Whether the anime would choose to adopt the flashback story arc or the arcs of the future of Yuji and the team, there sure are more to the story. Still, with no confirmation yet for the seasons that are to come, fans and viewers would just have to wait and see what unfolds in the following days.

Should there be a second season, maybe even a third one, you'll be the first to know through this website. So, tune in and sit tight, Jujutsu Kaisen will most likely have a second season.

Jujutsu Kaisen airs via Crunchyroll every Friday at 1: 45 PM EST/ 3:45 AM JST.
