Would you believe it's almost a decade since the first Kingsman movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, came out? And after two other movies, avid fans are still hoping for a third Kingsman movie.
So will there be a Kingsman 3 movie that will star Taron Egerton? Here's what we know so far.
How Many Kingsman Movies Are There?
Even though there are already three Kingsman movies to date, the latest one doesn't come as a sequel to the first two. This is the list of the movies under the franchise:
- Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
- Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
- The King's Man (2021)
The King's Man is actually a prequel that takes place decades before the events of the first Kingsman movie. It shares the history of how the secret service organization came to be. The King's Man starred Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Goode, Rhys Ifans, and Gemma Arterton.
Originally, The King's Man was planned to be released in theaters in November 2019. However, due to the production difficulties and the restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the film's release was delayed eight times. It finally made its way to theaters on December 22, 2021.
Will There Be More Kingsman Movies?
The good news is, a sequel to Kingsman: The Golden Circle is in the works. Director Matthew Vaughn confirmed in 2017 that he is working on the script with Jane Goldman. Vaughn also revealed that he wanted to work with Dwayne Johnson as the villain in the third Kingsman movie.
During the pandemic, Vaughn revealed that the working title of Kingsman 3 is Kingsman: The Blue Blood. When they released The King's Man in December 2021, Vaughn revealed that production for Kingsman: The Blue Blood is slated to start in September 2022. They also plan to release the third movie sometime this year.
Unfortunately, Kingsman: The Blue Blood will be the final chapter in this story arc. But since the films are based on Mark Millar's graphic novel series of the same title, there's plenty of material to use for future films. This means there are plenty of characters and conspiracies to expand on once Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton) and Harry Hart (played by Colin Firth) bid farewell to their roles in the third movie.
In an interview with Collider, Egerton said:
"I want it to be a fitting ending. And I would, obviously, really hope that Colin [Firth] would come back for at least a part of it, and who knows? We'll have to see, but we are planning to talk about it, actually, the next time we see one another, so who knows? Watch this space. But, you know, he's certainly not backing off the idea."
Have They Started Filming Kingsman: The Blue Blood Already?
Back in July 2022, Egerton appeared on The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham to talk about the future of the franchise. At that time, Egerton revealed that the production date of the third Kingsman movie was nearing but specifics were not revealed in the interview.
"My understanding is that we are to be shooting the third installment in my saga I believe next year. But you know, don't listen to what I say because I don't really know. You know, they're grown-up decisions."
Since there isn't an update on the production status of the film at this time, it may not be able to meet its intended 2023 release date. This means the earliest that the film could arrive in cinemas will be in 2024.
Who Will Star in Kingsman: The Blue Blood?
Since Kingsman: The Blue Blood will be a sequel to Kingsman: The Golden Circle, it'll likely star the actors from that film. Hopefully, the actors will have time to reprise their roles even though it's been a long wait since the third Kingsman movie was announced.
If everything goes well, we might expect the following actors to reprise their roles:

- Colin Firth (as Harry Hart)
- Channing Tatum (as Agent Tequila)
- Halle Berry (as Agent Whiskey)

Is There a Kingsman: The Blue Blood Trailer Online?
Since the third Kingsman movie is still in production, there's no available material to use for its trailer. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer for the second movie to catch up with the events.
