Why Lynda Carter Thinks Wonder Woman Movie Will Be "Great"

Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman has become one of the highlights in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has been poorly reviewed despite being a commercial success. Not only did Gadot do a great job representing the Amazonian warrior, the character itself kicked ass, saving the "boys" (Superman and Batman) when they were having a hard time battling Doomsday.

That said, many are on the lookout for the character's solo film, and while some people might be worried about how the Wonder Woman movie will perform, original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has offered some good points on why she thinks the movie will perform better than expected.

In an interview with ET Canada, the 64-year-old actress, who originally played the character in the 1975 TV show, said:

I think that they needed a woman director, and they needed the focus to be about the story of who she is. And I think they got that. So from what I understand, it's going to be great. I can't wait!

Wonder Woman's solo film will be directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), and while the studio hasn't released any details about the movie, from the first footage of the movie released earlier this year, we know enough that the movie will be about Diana Prince's training from a princess to a warrior, and that she will use her training to fight alongside Chris Pine's Steve Trevor during World War I.

Clearly, the movie already has the aspects that Carter wants the movie to have, and I can't think of anyone more worthy making those claims as Lynda Carter.

We already know that the movie is making waves in Hollywood and feminism. I expect nothing less than a "great" film when Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
