A couple of times in the show, we could see that Boruto was always angry with his dad. He would call him useless and other terms. This doesn't seem like the case when Boruto was young. If fans have noticed, Naruto and Boruto have a lot of photos together while playing in their house.

This could mean that the two had a great relationship before, but everything changed when Naruto became the Hokage. As the Hokage, Naruto has a lot of work to do for the village. This made him an absent father, as he always prioritizes his responsibilities. Fans of Naruto know how much Naruto wanted to be a Hokage, so it was expected that he would give his best to do his job.

There was so much work to do to the point that he had to send clones to important family events. After knowing this, Boruto changed his treatment towards his father, although we couldn't really say that he hates his dad.

Boruto still wants to get the attention and approval of Naruto as seen in the Chunin Exams. He wanted to make his father proud and acknowledge him despite being so angry that his dad is not around. He also cried in the Boruto movie when his dad disappeared and did everything he can to help save Naruto. With this, it is better to say that Boruto hates Naruto's job than Naruto himself. Boruto is still young, so he doesn't understand the responsibility of the Hokage.

Hopefully, the relationship between these two characters will be better soon. For now, fans will have to continue watching Boruto: Naruto Next Generations to see what will happen next. Get the latest update on the series here.
