Who Turned Everyone to Stone?
Surely, everyone had their guesses as to who caused the Petrification Event, but no one would have suspected it to be a bunch of petrification devices.
Essentially, the Why-man is the reason everyone turned to stone. They are a group of petrification devices whose goal is to keep humanity petrified.
For them, petrification can provide humans with eternal life. It can even heal fatal wounds.
Moreover, eternal life can help the Why-man find the right person to maintain their machines as the devices cannot change their batteries on their own.
They also believe that petrification can pave the way for a better world as it could lead to technological advancements and improvements for humans.
Is the Why-man an Enemy or an Ally?
While we can all agree that the Petrification Event is a global phenomenon that turned everyone into stone, was it really that bad? Is the Why-man the enemy, or were they actually helping Earth improve?
Senku and the rest of the Kingdom of Science believe that the ideals of Why-man are wrong.
Sure, eternal life would be good, and humans need to improve themselves further, but petrification is certainly not the answer.
This is why Senku and his team have decided to put everything at risk, even their lives, to stop the Why-man and end all the petrification-related phenomena in the future.

Will Senku Be Able to Stop the Why-man?
As expected, Senku was able to stop the Why-man. By doing research, Senku found out that Why-man is located on the moon.
Senku partnered with Xeno, who constructed a rocket for them. Upon arriving on the moon, Senku decided that the only way to end the chaos was by simply talking to the Why-man.
He requested a private moment with the machines and convinced them that they should consider looking for a new host to parasitize. All of the devices then agreed, except for one.
Senku believes that this Why-man differs from the rest and is more interested in studying humanity and helping Earth advance.
