James Northcote made quite the impression when his character turned the tables on his own sister-in-law in Fool Me Once. But before we get into that, here are a few films and TV shows where you may have seen him previously.

Northcote is most notably known for playing Jack Good in The Imitation Game and as Princess Betsy's Footman in the 2012 flick Anna Karenina.

He also portrayed the role of Aldhelm in the 2017 series The Last Kingdom and even had a few lines on the recent Final Fantasy XVI video game.

He may have yet to headline his own film or series, but his roles so far have been quite memorable.

This time though, his character has bigger shoes to fill for being one of the so-called antagonists in Netflix's Fool Me Once, by playing Neil Burkett, aka Joe Burkett's younger brother out for revenge.

The moment Maya pieced the puzzle together, she stormed to Burkett's manor to confront Judith, her husband's mother, and his siblings, Caroline and Neil.

Ultimately, this confrontation scene exposed the truth to Joe's family — it was Maya who was behind her own husband's death and the Burketts were causing mass corruption in the pharmaceutical industry.

While Judith was suggesting to reconcile and blame everything on Joe on his deathbed, Neil didn't blink as he shot Maya to death.

There was no question behind his motives. Especially since he was siding with his family. So, it was either his back or Maya's. Well, the answer's quite obvious, isn't it?

Netflix Tudum's official synopsis for Fool Me Once reads:

A newly single mom is grieving her husband when, just two weeks after his funeral, she sees him appearing alive and well — on her nanny cam. Was he actually murdered? Or are there darker powers at play? Fool Me Once, created by bestselling author Harlan Coben, was directed by BAFTA Award winner David Moore (Outlander, The Last Kingdom) and adapted to series by writer Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic, Come Home).
