Does Maya Die in Netflix's Fool Me Once?
Maya (played by Michelle Keegan) has spent the entire show trying to find the culprit who killed her husband Joe Burkett (Richard Armitage).
It is worth mentioning that the series is filled with bigger plot twists than any viewer could count, one of which includes her husband's killer. In this case, surprisingly, Maya was the perpetrator.
See, her husband Joe had actually staged a little robbery-gone-wild with her sister, Claire, which led to Claire's tragic death on the street. It wasn't until later that Maya found out, leading her to make her husband disappear for good.
Unfortunately, in her pursuit of the truth, Neil Burkett aka Joe's younger brother (played by James Northcote) put bullets through her chest, killing her on the spot.

Maya's Death Pays Tribute To the Netflix Title
Considering that Fool Me Once is ultimately a revenge story centered on the married couple, there's no question about the motives Maya and Joe had for their kill count.
Maya's distrust towards her beloved husband has grown harder and harsher than ever after learning the secrets he had been keeping from her. What could be worse than building a relationship with a liar?
And so, on her deathbed, Maya put the showdown on live stream for the whole world to see behind closed doors.

A newly single mom is grieving her husband when, just two weeks after his funeral, she sees him appearing alive and well — on her nanny cam. Was he actually murdered? Or are there darker powers at play?
