Megumin: An Unexpectedly Popular Character
Before we delve deeper into Megumin’s dating life, let's get to know more about her. Megumin is a genius sorcerer who joined Kazuma’s party. Her main objective is to defeat the Devil King.
KonoSuba creator Natsume Akatsuki confirmed that Megumin was created to become an ideal heroine. But what he did not expect was that Megumin would become so popular that she eventually overshadowed Aqua, who was set to be the actual heroine of the series.
Megumin is 14 years old and is part of the Crimson Demons race. Her eye patch caught the attention of KonoSuba fans, but it was later revealed that it was just used for aesthetic purposes.
Interestingly, she only uses one powerful explosion spell that could drain her entire mana.

Will Megumin Date Someone?
Megumin initially had no plans to date in KonoSuba. Her goal was set on defeating the Devil King, but she eventually falls in love with Kazuma after joining his party.
She confessed her feelings to Kazuma, who accepted and reciprocated her feelings, leading to them becoming a couple.
They planned to keep it a secret, but Darkness discovered it when she confessed to Kazuma.
Kazuma declined Darkness' confession as he did not want to cheat on Megumin.
Who Does Megumin End Up With?
Megumin and Kazuma were still together when KonoSuba ended, which means Megumin did end up with Kazuma.
In fact, the creator made a spinoff about their relationship entitled KonoSuba Continued Explosions after the end of Volume 17 to focus on the two beloved characters more.
Sadly, no announcements have been made as to whether this spinoff will be adapted into an anime, but fans can instead look forward to KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, which will focus on Megumin’s story.
The spinoff is set a year before Megumin joined Kazuma’s party, so fans can expect that Kazuma will not be part of the upcoming fantasy series.
KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! will begin airing on April 5, 2023, on select Japanese networks and on Crunchyroll.
