Time Travel and Delinquent Drama in Tokyo Revengers

When I first heard of the anime Tokyo Revengers, I never thought that it was about a group of delinquent teenagers with so many personal issues in their lives. I thought it was about a protagonist going through many things to exact revenge on another person (aka the antagonist) in the city of Tokyo.

Yes, I was mistaken, and Tokyo Revengers delivers a novel plot that combines Japanese gang culture with the supernatural element of time travel.

Takemichi Hanagaki's tale may seem disjointed to some, but the tension, teenage drama, and dramatic shift in the series' premise make it a compelling experience.

With Tokyo Revengers Season 2 now finished, anime viewers can read Ken Wakui’s manga series and continue Takemichi Hanagaki’s struggle for change.

The manga is easy to read and follow, so you’ll never have a problem finishing Takemichi’s story.

How Much of Tokyo Revengers Did the Anime Cover?

So far, Tokyo Revengers Seasons 1 and 2, which were produced by Liden Films—the same studio that brought Call of the Night and Berserk 2016—have covered 121 chapters of the manga.

This implies that the Tokyo Revengers anime has completed adapting the manga's four major story arcs: Toman, Moebius, Valhalla, and the Black Dragon Arcs.

In 24 episodes, the first season of Tokyo Revengers adapted three plot arcs from the manga, from Toman to Valhalla.

The second season, on the other hand, adapted the whole Black Dragon arc in only 13 episodes.

Understandably, the second season of the anime is shorter than the first, due to the respective story arcs they covered from the manga.

We can deduce from this that the number of episodes aired by the anime will be determined by the plot arcs covered in the manga.

It's the same in other anime, although it still depends on how many chapters the anime studio adapts.

If Tokyo Revengers Season 3 is made, there's an excellent chance that Liden Films will produce another 24-episode animated series, given that Tenjiku Arc has over 60 chapters to adapt.

Where to Start the Tokyo Revengers Manga After the Anime

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 ends in Chapter 121 of the manga, covering the entire Black Dragon Arc. Hence, viewers should start reading Chapter 122 of the manga after watching Tokyo Revengers Season 2.

You can still read the manga from the beginning to immerse yourself further in the series at this stage.

However, given that the anime has already adapted over 120 chapters, it will take some time to read Takemichi's adventures from the beginning to the end of the Black Dragon arc.

Either way, you can start reading the manga after the anime to continue the events of Tokyo Revengers rather than sitting all day waiting for the news to come around that Season 3 will happen.

After all, Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers manga is already finished. It is up to you to decide when you will pick up the series and read how Takemichi’s journey ends.

From this point on, you only need to read 157 chapters to finish Tokyo Revengers.

Where to Read the Tokyo Revengers Manga Online

To read the series from beginning to end, you must purchase Tokyo Revengers online from Kodansha's US website. You can also purchase the manga volumes in both hard copy and digital format from the same website.

At the time, there is no legal site to read the Tokyo Revengers manga online for free.

We do not encourage unlawful websites because it is detrimental to the creator's work, not to mention you, who will be able to read unauthorized scans and/or translations.
