While the manga’s ending wasn’t well received by many fans, Tokyo Revengers is still a popular franchise. Thanks to its popularity, a new Tokyo Revengers special arc will be released by author Ken Wakui.
This upcoming arc was announced in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine where the final chapter of the series was released.
There, details about the special arc along with a new serialization were revealed.
Tokyo Revengers Manga Ending Reactions
Tokyo Revengers is a manga by Ken Wakui that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017 to November 2022.
It is one of the magazine’s bestselling titles of all time, with the series having over 65 million copies in circulation as of July 2022.
Its popularity both in Japan and internationally was boosted by a TV anime adaptation by Liden Films that aired between April and September 2021.
Thanks to the show’s popularity, the anime got renewed for a second season.
Along with an anime, the series also received a live-action film adaptation that was released in 2021 in Japanese cinemas, with a follow-up scheduled in 2023.
Recently, the manga's five-year run has ended, though it seems that many fans aren’t satisfied with the series' ending.
On Twitter, there are many fans who voiced their displeasure with the ending.
While there are multiple reasons, the prevailing one is that many fans felt that the happy ending for the series felt rushed and unearned.
Despite complaints, there are fans who defended its ending, saying that they’re happy to see their favorite characters have happy conclusions to their storylines.

Tokyo Revengers Manga Special Arc, Extra Spinoff
The upcoming Tokyo Revengers special arc will be revealed by Wakui at an upcoming exhibition for the manga in Roppongi, Tokyo.
While this arc is set to be released in November 2023 (the same time as the exhibition), there’s no word yet on what it will be about. Though it will likely be set after the series’ ending.
Aside from the upcoming arc, it was also revealed that the Tokyo Revengers Extra spinoff manga will be serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine.
This spinoff series was originally bundled with the Tokyo Revengers anime's Blu-ray and DVD releases.
Along with the upcoming manga projects, Tokyo Revengers fans can expect more to come as the anime’s second season is set to release in 2023.
