While we already have some idea on when Warrior Nun Season 2 could be released, it's not an official announcement yet. We know for a fact that the series will not be coming out in July 2022. But the good news is, it won't be too long before the series returns.
Warrior Nun Season 2 Release Date: What We Know So Far
Back in its Geeked Week event in June, Netflix revealed that Warrior Nun Season 2 will be released in winter 2022. And this could mean anytime in November or December.
Along with this announcement, the streaming service released a teaser trailer that gives a hint on how the cliffhanger ending will be answered in Season 2. And teaser alert, Ava (Alba Baptista) now runs on water.
The announcement comes at a good time, especially since fans of the series have been waiting for a few years for the succeeding season. Netflix first confirmed that Warrior Nun has been renewed for a second season.
To break the news to the cast, Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry held a virtual reunion and shared their reactions on Twitter. But because of restrictions brought about by the pandemic, production wasn't able to start until almost a year later.
And finally in November 2021, Barry shared that they already wrapped up filming Season 2. A month later and the showrunner tweeted that he already watched the new episodes. "Having watched all of #WarriorNun S2 this week, I can officially declare it a 'Holy Hand Grenade' season. Prepare yourselves for [explosions]."
In February 2022, Barry updated his followers and shared that Season 2 was "in several thousand small digital parts in a massive @netflix server, being reassembled by brilliantly talented artists who need to shape it just right so that it melts your brain in the desired fashion we imagined."
A Season 2 teaser and release timeline was then announced by Netflix at its Geeked Week event.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Plot: What Will It Be About?
In an interview with Refinery 29, Baptista revealed that Warrior Nun Season 2 will be wilder than the first season. "[There's] going to be a big, big reveal for an eventual season 2. It was well thought-out. It wasn't just an accident. It's another plot twist for the spectators to guess on for another year. They'll have to wait for another season."
This seems to suggest that Warrior Nun will be getting more seasons after Season 2. Barry was quoted by Inverse saying "Anything between five and seven seasons would be lovely."
Is There a Warrior Nun Season 2 Trailer Already?
Yes! Back in June, Netflix shared a teaser trailer of Warrior Nun Season 2 during its Geeked Week event. The trailer confirms fan theories that Adriel (William Miller) will be returning as the Big Bad.
A voice can be heard in the trailer saying, "No one in history has ever defeated Adriel and lived." Ava responds to this "Well then.. Looks like we're going to have to make history."
You can watch the trailer here.
