Lucifer officially continues its run on television, with the show getting renewed for a sixth season!

Netflix recently revealed the August premiere date for Lucifer's fifth season. Now, the streaming giant has made the announcement of getting renewed for a sixth and final season. Lucifer was rescued by Netflix from cancellation after Season 3, revealing that Season 5 would be the final season of the show.

Lo and behold, Season 6 is now official! Granted, there were some hiccups along the way with contract negotiations, but star Tom Ellis and showrunner Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are secured to move forward with the final season. Yep, as mentioned in the tweet, this will be the "FINAL final" season. There weren't any episode count revealed along with the announcement, but the longest season to date was Season 3 with 26 episodes.

The fifth season of Lucifer is set to begin later this year, consisting of 16 episodes. The first half will be released on August 21st but the second half is yet to have a release date.
