According to reports, the royal couple inked a multi-year deal with Netflix in September 2020. The agreement was made a few months after officially breaking away from the Royal Family. Sources reveal that the deal would include a number of Netflix-exclusive content, including docuseries, documentaries, movies, and even children's content.

The docuseries was confirmed by Markle in an interview with Variety magazine:

"It's nice to be able trust someone [Liz Garbus] with our story - a seasoned director whose work I've long admired - even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it. But that's not why we're telling it. We're trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens."

On December 1, 2022, Netflix released the official teaser of the docuseries and the final title will be: Harry & Meghan.

So when is the Harry & Meghan docuseries coming to Netflix? It is said to make a release in December 2022.

But a Deadline report from October revealed that the docuseries' release date will be pushed to 2023 due to a number of reasons. First, there's the death of Queen Elizabeth in September plus a number of unexpected events. The Suxxexes reportedly requested some edits on the documentary, which will also cause a delay in its release.

Page Six also reported that there were some disagreements on the direction of the show. The couple also reportedly made changes to the show's director in the midst of its production.

Originally, Garrett Bradley was picked to direct the docuseries. But because of "a few sticky moments between them," Bradley left the project.

There's no confirmation yet but the untitled docuseries is reportedly getting released after The Crown Season 5's premiere.

The docuseries is said to follow the couple's new life in California and away from royal duties.

In an interview with The Cut, Markle explained what the docuseries will be about:

“The piece of my life I haven’t been able to share, that people haven’t been able to see, is our love story. I hope that is the sentiment that people feel when they see any of the content or the projects that we are working on… When the media has shaped the story around you, it’s really nice to be able to tell your own story.”

Apart from the docuseries, Harry is said to be working on a memoir that details his early life. The memoir, entitled Spare, will be released on January 10, 2023.
