Now that Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) is out in theaters and marks the end of the Jurassic Park film series, there's only one thing left for fans to sink their teeth into - the fifth and final season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. But when is Camp Cretaceous Season 5 coming out?

Check out the official Camp Cretaceous Season 5 trailer below:

Camp Cretaceous Season 5 sees the return of Darius Bowman, Ben Pincus, Yasmina "Yaz" Fadoula, Brooklynn, Kenji Kon, and Sammy Gutierrez - six teens who became trapped on Isla Nublar during the collapse of Jurassic World.

Throughout the first four seasons of the animated show - all of which are available to watch on Netflix - we've watched the group grow close to one another as they've learned to survive dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes.

Their adventures have led them through the jungles of Isla Nublar and beyond, as they braved an attempt using the Isla Nublar ferry, only to wind up in a mysterious location where dinosaurs inhabit "biomes".

But now, their long and arduous journey is finally about to come to an end, and as promised in the brand-new trailer for Camp Cretaceous Season 5, "Every moment, every discovery, every escape... has led to this."

Exactly how the showrunners intend to wrap things up remains to be seen, but the trailer does indeed promise that this season is the last, which ties in nicely with the fact that Jurassic World: Dominion is the final film in the series.

However, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous actually takes place some four years before the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, although a Season 4 episodes does overlap with the opening of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).

The beginning of that film, though, actually takes place six months before the main story gets going, which finds the dinosaurs living on a knife's edge as the Isla Nublar's thought-to-be-dormant volcano is due to erupt at any moment.

Jurassic World: Dominion, however, takes place four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and finds dinosaurs thriving across mainland North America and beyond.

Whether or not Camp Cretaceous will tie into the events of the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park film series also remains to be seen, however, Jurassic World: Dominion doesn't acknowledge the animated series.

While Camp Cretaceous is considered canon by the showrunners, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's earned this status - at least not yet. However, that could all change in Camp Cretaceous Season 5.
