What Happened to One in Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1?
Throughout the show, One is never seen or heard of when the children line up, Two is the eldest and Seventeen is the youngest. In the middle of all of them is Eleven. One is finally revealed in Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 and his identity is a surprise to everyone, especially to Eleven.
At one point, One is said to be a myth among the patients and the staff of the laboratory. His identity remains unknown and no one has seen him, except Dr. Brenner, of course. One is his very first patient, hence, his identification number.
In the finale of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1, it was revealed that one of the staff at the laboratory who helps Eleven master her abilities and plan an escape is none other than One. Portrayed by Jamie Campbell Bower, One’s abilities were subdued by a device implanted by Dr. Brenner, “Soteria.” In exchange for his help to Eleven, she removed the implant on him and that marked the return of his abilities.
Eleven was surprised as One revealed himself to her and he told her how alike they are in ways unimaginable. However, Eleven did not like what he did to the others. He slaughtered everyone at the laboratory and all the time, Eleven thought it was her doing and she felt all the guilt because of it.
Eleven stood her ground and One realized he could not win her to his side. One revealed that he was the son of Victor Creel, Henry, and he did not like what his parents were showing to the others: a picture perfect family on the outside but troubled on the inside. He got a liking to the Black Widows and from then, he learned how to make things move with his mind.
He wanted to kill them all but when he was about to take his father’s life, he ran out of energy to do it and fainted. He was declared dead but it turned out that Dr. Brenner subjected him to a study which could replicate his abilities, the experiment on Eleven and the other kids faced.
When Eleven resisted his ideas, he tried to do to her what he did to the others but Eleven was motivated by the memories of her mother and the other kids. Eleven managed to pin One to the wall and tried to incarcerate him but instead, Eleven opened a rift between worlds, and One flew right in, got struck by lightning, and became Vecna.
