Simon Barry Celebrates As Warrior Nun Is Confirmed For A New Season

The showrunner shared the news on his Twitter account. In his tweet, Simon Barry promised that the third season of the series will be bigger than its predecessors.

"Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts - Warrior Nun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine," Barry wrote. "More details to come! SOON! Thank-you!!"

There's a good reason why Barry is so grateful to the fans. After all, the show's supporters rallied together to save the show after Netflix decided to cancel Warrior Nun after two seasons.

The fandom's campaign involved a lot of careful planning. People would regularly make Warrior Nun trend on social media to confirm that there is a huge demand for a third season.

There were also numerous Change.org petitions to renew the series. Luckily, it sounds like somebody finally listened and we can't wait for the show's return.

For now, it has not yet been revealed which network has picked up Warrior Nun for a third season. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Warrior Nun is based on the Ben Dunn comic book Warrior Nun Areala and follows 19-year-old Ava Silva as she wakes up in a morgue with a divine artifact embedded in her back. Ava is now a part of the ancient Order of the Cruciform Sword and must fight demons to protect humanity.

Warrior Nun ran for two seasons before being cancelled by Netflix in December 2022.
