Trigun Stampede Is Not Crunchyroll Exclusive, Also Streaming on Hulu

Trigun Stampede premiered during the weekend on Crunchyroll. And while many expected the series to be Crunchyroll-exclusive in many countries, it turns out that Trigun Stampede is also streaming now on Hulu.

This new Trigun anime was among the highlights of Crunchyroll’s Winter 23 lineup, along with other shows such as NieR: Automata Ver1.1a.

So, it’s surprising to see it also be streamed on another platform, though it’s not as widely available there.

Trigun Stampede: A Marvel & DC Style Adaptation

Trigun is a classic 90s anime series that many old-school anime lovers know and love.

While the original series was based on Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga of the same name, it featured some key story differences, especially in the latter part.

After all, the manga continued its initial run until well after the anime ended.

As for the new series, Stampede is a 3DCG animated series by Orange, the studio behind Beastars and Godzilla Singular Point.

While the original 90s anime series was a faithful adaptation in the beginning, Trigun Stampede promises to be a different take on the story.

For instance, in Episode 1, Meryl Stryfe is changed to a reporter instead of an insurance agent.

The episode’s events also differ heavily from the original anime series. Though this was highlighted before in an interview with the anime’s staff.

In an interview, TOHO animation producer Katsuhiro Takei revealed that the Stampede staff were inspired by Marvel and DC movies when it came to adapting the source material.

Given the interview, it’s fair to say that fans should expect a more Marvel or DC style of adaptation with Trigun Stampede, meaning its story will be markedly different from the original manga.

This should make the show a must-watch for big Trigun fans, whether they watch it through Crunchyroll or Hulu.

Trigun Stampede Hulu Release Announcement

Previously, Crunchyroll announced that it will stream the anime in various countries, including the US and select Asian countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, and others.

As for the show’s Hulu release, it wasn’t heavily promoted, but fans spotted that the show is streaming on Hulu in select countries such as the US.

Hulu Japan is also confirmed to stream new episodes of Trigun Stampede, giving fans from all over the world more options to choose from if they want to watch the latest adaptation.

Trigun Stampede Episode 2 will be released this weekend.
