Today’s Webtoon gave a strong impression when it finally dropped episode 1.
Today’s Webtoon is an ongoing K-drama series featuring Kim Sejeong, Nam Yoon Su, and Choi Daniel. It explores the life of On Ma Eum, a former judo athlete who gives up her Olympic dreams after an accident.
As she takes on a new role as a webtoon editor, the series shares the competitive nature of job postings in South Korea, especially in the webtoon industry.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 1 Recap
Today’s Webtoon immediately starts its episode 1 with a sneak peek of the webtoon series On Ma Eum (Kim Sejeong) has been reading. After reading a chapter, she starts her part-time job as a delivery staff while she is on a break from playing judo.
She receives a call about a gig during the Night of Neon Webtoon Artists event launched by Neon, a renowned IT company.
Amid the event, Seok Ji Hyung tries to take webtoon writer Na Gang Nam out. However, On Ma Eum makes a mistake as he is actually Neon’s assistant editor and he only wants to remind the writer to submit Princess Kumiho’s draft.
After learning that On Ma Eum is a fan and waiting for an update, he decides to finish the rest of his draft as instructed by the editor. She also saves Pomme from a fan who is harassing her, earning a chance to get her signed copy of a limited-edition webtoon through Seok Ji Hyung.
Before trying to send her address, she discovers that Neon starts its open recruitment for the second half of 2021. She then applies for a job in Neon and several webtoon platforms. However, her father On Gi Bong — who was also a judo player — wants her to come back to judo.
But On Ma Eum finally receives a message that she passed the pre-screening stage at Neon. She also passes the interview by doing push-ups in front of the recruitment team.
During the final interview, she meets Nam Yoon Su’s Goo Jun Yeong. Unfortunately, Neon decides to move on with another applicant.

Three months later, Neon’s Webtoon Service Team continues to see a downgrade in sales number. This causes Jang Man Cheol to ask for new hires for the team and pledge to give commendable results to save the webtoon editing department.
On the other hand, On Gi Bong tells On Ma Eum to go back to judo after a month. As she needs to find a work before it happens, she receives a call for a temporary position at Neon.
Today’s Webtoon episode 1 also sees the start of On Ma Eum’s journey at the IT company under the webtoon editing department. While on her way to the office, she bumps into Goo Jun Yeong again.
On Ma Eum is assigned to ensure that the webtoon creators follow the schedule to ensure the high stats and prevent the butterfly effect in the department once a writer misses an episode. For one of her first works, she comes with Seok Ji Hyung to meet a webtoon writer, Baek Eo Jin (Kim Kap Soo).
However, the writer soon finds out the hate comments about his works after On Ma Eum tells him that she will leave positive and long comments on his webtoon’s episodes. He calls Jang Man Cheol to withdraw the copies of the webtoon episodes he sent to Neon, causing the department members to have an emergency meeting.
