Thor: Love and Thunder is finally here and it's winning big at the worldwide box office! It has just been revealed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel has harnessed the power of over $302 million from around the globe on its opening weekend alone!

Deadline confirms that Thor: Love And Thunder accomplished pre-weekend projections, landed a $159 million start in 47 international box office markets and brought in a grand total of $302 million around the globe. The movie has now become the third-highest weekend for any Hollywood film during the pandemic era. It also takes the second-best opening weekend of 2022 just behind Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness in March.

It's no surprise that Thor: Love and Thunder did so well at the box office considering that it features some of the most-loved characters in the MCU. The film brought back Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder and finally gave us a better understanding of Jane Foster, Thor's ex-girlfriend as she deals with cancer and finds a new purpose as the new wielder of Mjolnir.

Thor: Love and Thunder proved to be a true Taika Waititi film complete with humor, action, and flashy Easter eggs. The movie introduced us to a properly nuanced villain in Gorr the God Butcher who is played by the brilliant Christian Bale. Some of the best new characters just happened to be a pair of giant goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder who provided just the right amount of comic relief now that Korg and Miek had certain roles to play within New Asgard (of course, that didn't stop them from giving us a chuckle or two in the movie).

Overall, Thor: Love and Thunder is off to a great start and we're expecting the film to continue earning big at the box office. The movie is now screening in theaters worldwide.
