Natalie Portman's full-time return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was seen by many as a huge surprise since Jane Foster has been missing in action in the franchise since 2013. And while her cameo in Avengers: Endgame was well-received, some people were under the impression that it was just a one-off appearance to deliver some fan service. Obviously, that wasn't the case and as we all know by now, Endgame only planted the seeds for the comeback of Thor's love interest.

Currently, Portman is set to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder as the female version of the God of Thunder but it turns out, that's not the only thing we can expect from the Star Wars alum. According to a report from insider MyTimeToShineHello, the actress could lead her own spinoff project as the Mighty Thor.

KC Walsh, another respected scooper in the industry backed up the claim, saying that the project is in fact happening. However, the specifics regarding the rumored project have not been disclosed as of writing.

There has been a long-standing rumor that Portman wasn't happy with her Marvel tenure which is why she quietly left the franchise almost a decade ago. According to reports, Natalie lacked enthusiasm behind the scenes as she wanted a more substantial role in the billion-dollar franchise. This is probably the reason why Marvel Studios decided to bring female Thor to the MCU and obviously for Natalie, it's an offer that is too alluring to pass on. I'm glad she accepted it.

Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder hits cinemas on July 8, 2022.
