What Is The Plot For This Is Us Season 6?

This Is Us Season 6 will feature the final 18 episodes from the hit drama. Without giving too much away, fans of the show know for a fact that all loose ends from the previous seasons will be tied together in Season 6.

Not only this, all the main characters will be given ample airtime and their stories will be explored well in the upcoming episodes.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Fogelman described the ending of This Is Us Season 6 as ambitious. He said that the description does not only apply to the storylines but also to the actors, especially Mandy Moore who is giving the show most of her time.

What’s In Store For Rebecca In This Is Us Season 6?

In the trailer released by NBC for This Is Us Season 6, fans learned that Rebecca’s health is declining. So, it’s not surprising to learn that Rebecca’s deteriorating health will be at the core of the series.

“At its core, this has been a show about three things, which is family, time, and memory. Rebecca's storyline and her disease really factor into all of that. Alzheimer's is a disease that's a disease for the family, and not just for the one person who's suffering from it. This is a family whose childhoods and adulthoods have been defined by one another. So I think Rebecca's illness will put them in the spotlight together,” Fogelman explained.

What Will Happen To Randall’s Biological Dad In This Is Us Season 6?

The teaser for This Is Us Season 6 also shows Randall (Sterling K. Brown) tending to his biological dad at the hospital.

According to Fogelman, this is where the premiere episode will kick-off. And all the unfinished storylines from Season 5 will be addressed in the premiere.

As such, This Is Us Season 6 Episode 1 will serve as a marking to let audiences know where the characters are now in the present timeline versus where they were five years ago.

What’s In Store For Kate In This Is Us Season 6?

This Is Us Season 6 viewers know that Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) won’t end up together. Kate will wed Phillip. But those who are shipping Kate and Toby together will be thrilled to know that the two characters will share plenty of storylines in the upcoming episodes.

“The show at the outset of the season is going to be very much the show that people are familiar with. We're not picking up with Toby and Kate in complete marital crisis on the cusp of divorce. We owe a lot there. We have the plan for how we're going to do it, and then how we're going to do the rest and what happens later in her timeline. But we're going to live with Toby and Kate for quite a while. Disintegrations of marriages can be ugly often. They can be beautiful at times. They're not just all one thing most of the time. We're going to try to show that in all its colors,” Fogelman explained.

Milo Ventimiglia’s Best Episode Yet

According to Fogelman, fans can also expect nothing but the best for actor Milo Ventimiglia when he portrays his character, Jack in the final season.

More specifically, the series creator revealed that This Is Us Season 6 Episode 4 will be all about Jack.

“It's a Jack episode, and it's really, really good. By the end of the season, this show, before getting really simple, gets really ambitious. To me, it may be [Ventimiglia's] best episode of the entire series,” Fogelman gushed.

What Will Happen To Kevin In This Is Us Season 6?

Kevin (Justin Hartley) will continue to go through an existential crisis in the upcoming episodes. His marriage to Madison just ended, and his career is not that great. After all, he earned a reputation for walking out of sets.

So, Kevin’s struggles will continue in the upcoming episodes.

Which Two Characters Would Die In This Is Us Season 6?

Fans are convinced that Rebecca would die at the end of This Is Us Season 6. But Fogelman dropped a major tease regarding the fate of the other characters.

The series creator suggested that there could be more than one death this season and it could even be four.

“I mean, it's possible. It might even be more. It could be less. We're spanning a lot of time by the time we get to the end of this. My hope for the show has always been that the end of the show, for those who have stuck with it and those too who the show has been important, will feel like a complete meal. You don't always love all the decisions a character might make, but we're hoping that because we tried to plan this out so far in advance that you will have felt like you've closed the final page on one of those sprawling family novels that we all enjoy,” he said.
